Women are seen as the submissive sex. Despite the advances in women’s liberation seen in western societies, the previous phrase is still a reality in many areas, industries, and cultures. “In their eyes” offers a critic to women’s traditional image in media, opposing the sexualization and objectification of the female sex in cinema, arts, advertisement, and social media. This project features images of a woman through the lens of another, images where the photographic subject is exempt of censorship, social pressure, and any pre-conceived notion of herself. Nudity is presented to represent comfort with one’s own body, with all its realities, exactly as they are. The viewer is challenged to confront a liberated womankind, free of social constraints, and to accept that possible reality.
